To the Rescue

So, yesterday we went to check out our new house that we're going to buy. We were downstairs, looking at all the windows and then there is this little guy. He was stuck in a two feet hole with no where to go. He was trying to get out but couldn't. It was so sad. So we took him to the vet to get checked up. He is about 9 weeks old, had a broken pelvis and a broken leg. Of course we decided to get him fixed... he is doing better now. He has a cast on his leg but looks so cute! We are glad that we decided to keep him. His name is Tyson and today he let us hold him, he ate and is purring so loud! I'm happy he is apart of the family!

I can not wait to go back to Jamaica in May! Looking outside my window, watching the rain fall, makes me think how great it's going to be to lay out in the sun. Feeling the sand between my toes, sun on my face and the fresh smell of the Caribbean are unlike other I have felt before. I have truly enjoyed every experience that I have had while I am down there! :) I guess that's why they say, "Once you go, you'll know."

Detroit Beauty

It's sad sometimes that Detroit doesn't get he recognition that they should. There are so many beautiful and exquisite homes that people have forgot or don't tend to. The picture of this house is at Sibley and Park in downtown Detroit and I took the picture right before a Lions game. I love how the colors and lay out of the house fit it perfectly. The ivy leaves are already changing and its so beautiful how magical nature can be.

It's my first time in Texas and I love it here. I'm in Dallas for the state fair and auto show. This fair ground is huge and I haven't even left the Chrysler area. I can't wait to check out the city and experience something new. I'm very fortunate to have such an amazing job that allows me to travel. What a great time to spend my twenties. It's only the first day, but man, what a great first day it is. One down... only 11 more days to go.

Detroit Lions Home Opener

Today was a great day. We went to the Lions home opener for the second year in a row. But this year we tailgated at Eastern Market. It was different but great experience. We went down with some friends, ate pulled worked sandwiches and of ciurse, played beer pong. The only difference is I used Jack Daniels instead of beer. Bad choice. The sun was shining and the weather was better than expected. A win would totally have made the day buy sadly they came close again but could not pull off a win.

I was at dinner last night with the family and had seen on the t.v. that there was a severe heat advisory for the southeast area of Michigan. I can't remember the last time that Michigan had a heat advisory. The real question is... do I go swimming at the pool or stay cool and check out the new Eclipse movie???

4th of July weekend

This fourth was amazing! The weather was perfect! Spending time with your friends during holidays are a great way to spend the day! I loved it! Then we also heading out to the Beach Grill in St. Clair for the annual IndepenDANCE party with hosts Stick from Channel 955 and Jevon Hollywood from 106.7 The Beat of Detroit. Great times during Michigan summers.

Recently I've been going to different bridal shows and this one that I went to last Sunday was great! Even though there were a lot of people, commotion and overall exhibits, everything was well planned. I learned a lot about what I did and didn't want at my wedding. :) I know for 100% that I DO NOT want a chocolate fountain. It just seems like I went back to the 80's and I know once it runs out... it smells awful! The whole room by the end of the night smells like BURNT chocolate! Who wants that?? I certainly don't! What are some good bridal shows that provided a good amount of info??

I had a great time at the LeSalon Bridal show this evening! We were mannequins in this store window! It was a great experience watching everyone's face and they drove by and noticed that I had moved! :) I had about 5 dresses on throughout the 2 hours party... and surprisingly I loved something about every dress. I don't know what I want for sure on my dress. But I do know now that I want a sweetheart neckline, mermaid styled dress with accents and pearls on there, with a hint of lace! I think that would be the perfect dress! It pretty much described what I like on all the dress that I tried on tonight. Even though my wedding is still so far away, I don't think that there is anything wrong with planning ahead. All I know is that I don't want stressed out like so many engaged couples are a few months before their wedding.

Chicago First Look Preview

I just got back from the longest day at work. It was a great preview though! They had the best food from local restaurants around Chicago. Mmmmm. I must say though, that previews are some of the best people watching ever! Tonight we did the best/worse dress of the evening and of course there were some beautiful dresses out there!!!! One thing though... my feet hurt. Ouch :(

Dating is an awkward two way street. There are many do’s and don’ts of the dating world and it’s finally about time to let it all out there for everyone to learn, use and enjoy! Who knew that a few key, simply rules would provide someone the knowledge to hit the dating scene with confidence.

Here are a few do’s of the dating world:

First of all, and possibly the most important, PLEASE be on time! Being punctual and looking your best is the right start to a date. Who wants to wait around for someone to show up?

Even though it is a date, at least still try and enjoy yourself. Sometimes finding the right person can be scary enough, but if you remember to keep an open mind you never know where it could take you.

Make sure to compliment your date. Not only do women, but men do take a lot of time and energy in getting ready for a date. Let’s be honest, we all like to hear a compliment from time to time.

It’s rude not to pay attention to your date when they are explaining what interests them. Be sure to ask questions and share insights to find out what you both have in common.

When the date has came to an end, be sure to be direct if your not interested in seeing them again. Lying and stringing someone along can be hurtful and make sure to be firm, but polite.

Here’s where it gets tricky. Some people do not know where the line is and how not to cross it. Now onto some don’ts of the dating world:

Please be advised that technology is pretty amazing these days. Do not call, text or email more than once without a reply. He will notice the one missed message even if you do it more than once. Desperation and instability are MAJOR turnoffs.

Once again, don’t be late. IT IS JUST RUDE. Enough said.

Don’t open too much of your life in the first date. Keep personal information such as home phone number or address to yourself. These details should be kept to yourself until you trust the person you are dating.

Do not ignore your own safety. Make sure that your cell phone is fully charged, inform others of your whereabouts and do not let yourself ever be coerced into going anywhere that makes you feel uncomfortable.

Finally, NEVER date a married person. If you honestly think that they will leave their significant other for you, be prepared for the worse. If they cheated on their spouse with someone else, don’t think twice that it couldn’t possibly happen to you.

With all these do’s and don’ts hopefully anyone can find the perfect person for them. Just take each day at a time and love will find its way.

Softball Day!

Wow! What a day!! Blue skies and green grass is the perfect setting for a softball game. It was the first time for me to step up to the plate and hit one for the team! I was so nervous because I was the lead off hiter in the very first game and I had not even ran one base outside of gym class. But, did I happen to mention that it was 6 years ago? I can't believe how sore I am! We played in the "Joseph Shorkey 1st annual Memorial Tournament" to benefit the Christopher Barrette Medical Education Fund of Children's Hospital. All proceeds went to this fund, which was amazing! I can't believe how well everyone played. Of course, I'm so worried that I wouldn't be able to hit a ball and so I went to the batting cages for the last two days! Oh ya, I bought pink Nike batting gloves. I'm finally going to admit it, I like pink. I'm not ashamed anymore... haha. It think that they brought me some kind of "power" because I didn't strike out... not, even, once! All, in all, I think that it was a very successful day for the families! I am truly honored that I was able to spend the day with them remembering the loved ones.

So, I was reading Yahoo! and I noticed that they did some research on chocolate :) So here is the rundown of all the chocolates that they had tasted that day... mmmm! After ready this I was so hungry for some CHOCOLATE!!!!

Milk chocolate gets dismissed as the immature younger sibling of dark chocolate, but we are not ashamed of loving it. When good, milk chocolate melts on the tongue like butter. Serious Eats tried ten brands of old-fashioned milk chocolate to see which were the best and which tasted like stale Halloween candy.

Best Overall
While Switzerland is probably a really nice country to visit, you could still be pretty satisfied just eating its Lindt bar ($2.69 for 3.5 ounces) from afar. Smooth and creamy, without tasting too rich, it's what you want in a milk chocolate bar. There's no weird notes or whiffs of anything off-tasting—it's just chocolate done right.

Another favorite was the Deutschland chocolate bar, Ritter Sport ($2.50 for 3.5 ounces). The four-by-four pattern of little chocolate pegs is very satisfying. Each of the sixteen squares is smooth, sweet but not too sweet, and easy to break off and share.

According to confectionery literature, good chocolate should melt on the tongue like butter, and this one did—or, hypothetically, how we imagine throwing a stick of golden fat on our tongues would be like. Paul Newman did so much for the food world, from egg-binging to soy crisp development. What a man. And of all the organic brands we tasted, Newman's Own Organics ($2.99 for 2.25 ounces) was by far the most edible. Most Like Stale Halloween Candy
From the first whiff, we could identify this one. Whether it was the memories of "Fun Size" Halloween candy bars or those powdery instant cocoa packets, this was clearly Nestle ($1.59 for 5 ounces). Though more fake chocolate-tasting than chocolate-tasting, maybe we're fine with that. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.

Most All-Around Funky Tasting
Whoa, there. For being the most expensive bar we tried, Green & Black's ($3.99 for 3.5 ounces) was a huge disappointment. Was that beef jerky? Something in there was bizarrely tangy and threw off the whole experience. More power to the company for using fair trade, genetically-unmodified, organically-grown cocoa, but this chocolate just ain't good.

Tired of the familiar fashions, she decided to create her own accessories from the wonderful and colorful array of fabrics she discovered. It was Alexander Henry’s irresistible “Island Girls,” which led to the launch of NICOLITA. With Henry’s fabric, Di Rocco designed her first handbag. Before she knew it, orders were pouring in from her friends and classmates at USC, as well as boutiques in Los Angeles. Word-of-mouth advertising has established Di Rocco as a reputable fashion designer in the Los Angeles area.

Today my makeup artist TAMMY PORE told me about a contest that she is also participating in. So I signed up and I am so excited!!! I'm so excited to start blogging about my daily life and travels! I have been so places within the last year that it would be good to start writing everything done... or atleast typing it into a computer now! Wow... where has technology gone? I mean watching the "old" but "new" BH 90210, since I've never seen any when I was younger, even the fashion can tell you that you are about 20 years behind. I'm about to be 24 years old tomorrow and I feel sometimes that I am stuck. Cell phones, mini cameras in your cell phones, video cameras the size of your hand... where did the time go? I rememeber, well I actually don't remember, when family was the most important thing to a person in the 50's. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be my age during those times. I know that I sometimes take things for granted and I may not necessarily appreciate all the good things in my life, however, values are different from then to now and sometimes I wish they weren't. Divorce rate in higher than ever and couples are NOT valuing their relationship with one another. It seems that it is just as easy or not even easier to get a divorce! I miss the simple times, the times that were really important and of course the slower pace of daily life. Does anyone read the newspaper anymore? Or is everything just internet/PDA based? Don't get me wrong. I will be the first to tell you that I LOVE technology... but sometimes it would be good to just get away from it all. What do you think?
